- Store and manage your media in cloud storage.
- Communicate with you about your account or updates.
- Ensure compliance with our Terms of Use.
2a. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or UK, we process your personal data under the following legal bases (GDPR Art. 6):
- Consent: You have given explicit consent for us to process your personal data (e.g., data processing consent given during sign-up).
- Contract: Processing is necessary to perform the contract between you and Snap-Cast (e.g., providing the App and managing your account).
- Legal Obligation: Processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.
- Legitimate Interests: Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests (e.g., improving the App, preventing fraud), provided these are not overridden by your rights.
You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data:
- With service providers (e.g., cloud storage providers) under strict confidentiality.
- When required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- With your consent, for sharing media with other users.
4. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
4a. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfil the purposes described in this policy:
- Account data (name, email, settings): retained for the lifetime of your account. Deleted within 24 hours of account deletion.
- Media content (photos and videos): retained until you or the event organiser deletes them, or until your account is deleted.
- Usage and diagnostic logs: retained for up to 90 days, after which they are automatically purged.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Account Info → Delete My Account in the App, or by contacting us at support@snap-cast.com.
4b. International Data Transfers
Snap-Cast uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) to store and process your data. Your data is stored on AWS servers located in the United States. If you are located in the EEA or UK, this constitutes a transfer of personal data outside your jurisdiction.
We rely on AWS's compliance with applicable data transfer mechanisms (including AWS's participation in recognised frameworks and Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure an adequate level of protection for your data. For more information, see the AWS Privacy Notice.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access (Art. 15): Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Use Settings → Account Info → Export My Data in the App.
- Right to Rectification (Art. 16): Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure (Art. 17): Request deletion of your personal data. Use Settings → Account Info → Delete My Account in the App.
- Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18): Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to Data Portability (Art. 20): Receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format. Use Settings → Account Info → Export My Data in the App.
- Right to Object (Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account in Settings → Account Info → Delete My Account.
- Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been infringed.

6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children without parental consent.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the App or by email prior to the changes taking effect. The updated policy will display a revised Effective Date at the top. Where required by law, we will seek your renewed consent before applying changes that affect how we process your data.
